aWake Screens May 17 at Dodge College

The dramatic short film aWake, starring Mark Arnold and Leon Acord, will have its premiere screening on Monday, May 17 at 7 pm at the Folino Theatre at Dodge College.

Written by Nathaniel Atcheson and directed by Patrick Dawn,
aWake tells the poignant story of friends at a crossroads.

William Ginsberg (Arnold)
his wife Sarah (Sarah Keefer) attend the "living wake" of Marcus, William's longtime close friend with an assorted past, who's suffering from AIDS.   Questions of fulfillment and regret arise regarding William's marriage and whether or not it's too late for a second chance.

"I loved playing Marcus, I think he's become my favorite screen character to date," Leon says.  "He's such a bundle of contradictions -- selfish but loving, self-serving but honest.  It was wonderful to do such a dramatic film after so many comedies.  Mark was great to work with.  This film has me hungry to do more acting like this."

Folino Theatre at Doge College is located at 283 North Cypress Street in Orange County.
